Romney was the son of Charles Marsham, 3rd Earl of Romney, and his wife Lady Margaret Harriet, daughter of Charles Montagu-Scott, 4th Duke of Buccleuch, and succeeded his father in the earldom in 1874. George Augustus Francis Rawdon-Hastings 2nd Marquess of Hastings ( 4 February 1808 &ndash 13 January 1844) was a British peer, known Their third son the Hon.
