To prevent further infection of the T-virus, he attempts to use the anti-virus to cure himself and injects himself with multiple vials of the serum. He is then shot by Slater following orders from Wesker; however, Isaacs survives and kills his second-in-command with his mutated hand, stabbing him through the eyes and mouth, then proceeding to kill everyone at the base.
Isaacs, due to the increased infection from the bite and the anti-virus, mutates into a Tyrant- like creature. As this creature, he has the ability to rapidly heal his wounds. He is also able to use a stronger version of Alice's "telekinesis. " He is killed by Alice, after being lead into a replica of the security corridor leading to the Red Queen's Chamber from the original Hive facility as part of Project: Alice's training. The laser grid activates and kills him, as it did to One in the first film.

He manages to survive on his own, and rejoins them just in time to let Alice, Matt, and Rain out of a sealed lab. In the novel, it is explained that he backtracked along the pipes until he came to an air vent which he climbed out through. He is killed by the Licker as the group attempts to escape the Hive via train. He is the second to last Umbrella agent to be killed in the film.

He drives a former News Station van in which he has set up a variety of computers, including a radio broadcast machine. He is shown throughout the beginning of the film sending out broadcasts telling of the location of the convoy and asking for survivors to state their location. Later in the film when a battle ensues between the super zombies (Crimson Heads), created from Alice's blood, and the convoy, Mikey is one of the members to fight. He is jumped by a zombie, but Claire saves him. Shortly afterwards, he is ambushed by three more and Claire becomes physically upset trying to save him. In Resident Evil, he is first introduced on the underground train to The Hive. It is also revealed that Spence was the man who unleashed the T-Virus in the beginning sequence in the film, to cover up his theft.
Taking a cynical good-bye from them, Spence leaves Alice and the other survivors locked in the virus lab and heads for the train, on which he has hidden the samples for both the virus and the anti-virus. On the way to the train, he is attacked by the Licker, set loose by the Red Queen. As the survivors make it back to the train, he revives and tries to attack Alice, but is too severely injured to stand upright. Returning his cynical goodbye, Alice takes an axe and kills the zombie Spence with one swift blow to the head. The axe, or ax, is an implement that has been used for millennia to shape split and cut Wood, Harvest timber, as a Weapon She takes off her wedding ring and drops it next to his corpse.

Claire leads the survivors across the Nevada desert, to Las Vegas and eventually to reach sanctuary in Alaska. Isaacs fell, but as Slater turned to order the guards to dispose of the corpse, Isaacs sprang back to life. One of the guards tried to warn Slater, but it was too late, and Isaacs mutated into a Tyrant-like creature and killed Slater by shooting tentacles from his fingers that inserted themselves into Slater's face.

He is first shown in Apocalypse, handcuffed next to a zombie prostitute at the police station, saved by Jill Valentine, who shoots the zombies and then shoots his handcuffs, releasing him and advising him to leave town. Later on traveling the city in his Cadillac, he crashes his car at the sight of zombified strippers, and was forced to flee on foot. Walking alone he was saved by a S.T.A.R.S. sniper positioned on the rooftop of an abandoned store. Joining the S. T. A. R. S. who had holed up in the building, L. J. witnessed the first deployment of Nemesis, who killed the S.T.A.R.S. members but left L. J. alive as the Nemesis's main operative was to kill all S. T. A. R. S. members. He was considered a "minimal" threat until he dropped his custom made golden Desert Eagles, which meant he wasn't a threat at all.
Later on, L. J. ran into Jill and Terri Morales and joined them in their search for Angela Ashford. Early in the film, Carlos and L. J. search in an abandoned motel for gas, food and supplies but L. J. is attacked by zombies and is bitten severely; however, Carlos manages to help him in time, before he is bitten further. Afterwards, L. J. doesn't tell Betty and other members of the convoy that he has been infected. The convoy is then attacked by infected crows the next morning. L. J and Betty attempt to help those trapped in a school bus, but Betty stays behind to hold the windows and keep the crows from getting in the bus. She then saves the last child and passes him to L. J. When the crows finally break in, Betty tells L. J. to leave, and he is physically and mentally distraught when she is pecked to death. Arriving in Las Vegas, a horde of zombies attack and L.
