Chang-ee(창이 (昌伊)) is a major character in Dae Jang Geum. Dae Jang Geum ( literally The Great Jang Geum, aired in the United States as A Jewel in the Palace) is a 2003 TV series produced She is one of Jang Geum's other close friends. Throughout most of the series, Chang-ee was a palace maid(Na-in(나인(內人))). She was the assistant and favorite palace maid of the Court Lady Min Mee-Geum. Min Mee-geum (민미금 (閔美琴is a minor character in Dae Jang Geum. She first serves in the Royal Kitchen, but is cast out of the kitchen by the evil Choi Seong-geum, who was the Highest Lady of the Royal Kitchen at the time. Choi Seong-geum is a major character in Dae Jang Geum. She is considered the most notorious woman in the series and is known as Lady Choi throughout much of the series Luckily, when Lee Yeon-saeng become the King's concubine, she makes Chang-ee her kitchen's main cook. Lee Yeon-saeng (이연생 (李連生 is a major character in Dae Jang Geum. At the end of the series, Chang-ee is promoted to a Sang-Goon(Kitchen Court Lady) and is brought back to the Royal Kitchen.

Chang-ee is portrayed as a kind and reasonably pretty girl. However, she likes to munch on raw kitchen materials as she cooks. She is played by Choi Ja-hye (최자혜 (崔慈慧)) in the series.
