Early life
Caplin was brought up by her mother, Sylvia, of Jewish descent. [2] Her mother divorced her father, a furrier when she was a toddler. [2]
Cheriegate
In 2002, Caplin hit the newspaper headlines in the scandal referred to as "Cheriegate"[3][4] because of her involvement with Peter Foster, a convicted Australian conman, who assisted Cherie Blauir in the purchase of two flats in Bristol.
