Carl Mach is a mercenary who worked for a sinister corporation called the "Life Foundation". The Foundation was preparing for the M.A.D. fallout of the Cold War and sought to provide a comfortable life for their wealthy clients after the impending nuclear holocaust. Mutual assured destruction ( MAD; sometimes written as mutually assured destruction) is a Doctrine of military Strategy in which a full-scale Fallout is the residual radiation hazard from a Nuclear explosion, so named because it "falls out" of the atmosphere into which it is spread during the explosion Cold War is the state of conflict tension and competition that existed between the United States and the Soviet Union (USSR and their respective allies from the Nuclear holocaust refers to the possibility of nearly complete annhilation of human Civilization by Nuclear warfare. The Life Foundation was experimenting with the Venom symbiote in the hopes of developing superhuman peacekeepers to watch over their imagined fallout shelter utopia.
