He studied at the University of Franeker under Jacob Perizonius. The University of Franeker ( 1585 - 1811) was a University in Franeker, West Frisia, presently part of the Netherlands. Duker was also an authority on ancient law, and published Opuscula varia de latinitate veterum jurisconsultorum (1711), and a revision of the Leges Atticae of S. Law is a system of rules enforced through a set of Institutions used as an instrument to underpin civil obedience politics economics and society Petit (1741).
