The station produces 7 hours of news every weekday, and 4 hours on the weekends (a 2-hour Saturday morning show, and two 30-minute newscasts at 6 pm and 11 pm on both Saturday and Sunday).
The station is also the first in Edmonton to have a helicopter. The helicopter, called Global 1, is shared with CHED (AM) for their traffic reports during the Morning News (5:30 am to 9:00 am) and the Early News (5:00 pm to 5:30 pm). CHED is a Talk radio station in Edmonton Alberta, Canada, broadcasting at 630 on the AM dial and is owned by Corus Entertainment. The helicopter is also used frequently for breaking news coverage.
