Editor-in-Chief Debbie Stoller named the magazine BUST, because it was "aggressive and sexy and funny. " While BUST had the connotation of "breaking through and busting stereotypes," she also like that "it was a title that could belong to a men's porn magazine. As the company grew, BUST went national and its circulation grew, and in 2000 the founders sold the company to Razorfish Studios. [3]
Stoller and Henzel bought back the magazine in 2001 and have since transformed BUST into an award-winning glossy magazine with hundreds of thousands of readers around the world.
