History of Bubble Gang
The early years
Bubble Gang first aired on GMA Network on October 1995 as a counterpart to ABC's gag show Tropang Trumpo. For the former ITV company in the United Kingdom, see Associated British Corporation. Tropang Trumpo was a Filipino gag show produced by the Associated Broadcasting Company and aired from 1993 to 1998 The show occupied the Friday night timeslot of the now-defunct musical variety show "Vilma! on Seven". Two of its first cast members; Ogie Alcasid and Michael V. came from that show GMA hired two talents from ace talent manager Douglas Quijano Wendell Ramos and Antonio Aquitania. During its first year, it was shown around 7:00 in the evening and carried a slogan "Bubble Gang: Just chew it!"
Success at last
The show gained popularity when it introduced a segment called Myusik Tagalog Bersyon (MTB) and Music English Version (MEV} in 1996. In late 1998, Bubble Gang came up with an idea to spoof a religious program, Ang Dating Daan into Ang Dating Doon. DO-SE-NA: Bubble Gang The Movie
For the show's 12th anniversary, "Bubble Gang" made a movie-for-TV special entitled "DO-SE-NA". The story revolves around 2 detectives(Michael V. and Ogie Alcasid) who gets involved in different adventures ranging from serious to the most hilarious. The main format is action-musical-comedy. The whole cast injected sorts of ideas in the telemovie, which was filmed in high definition (HD). The movie has since been released on DVD.

- The show changed its jingle three times. The first jingle was a rock ditty entitled "Bubble Gang (Just Chew It!)", which figured prominently in the show's opening billboard (OBB) from 1995-1997. The second jingle was a reggae, "Chew (The Bubble Gang Ye!)" which had two versions. The first version played in the show's OBB from 1997-1999 while the second version (which was played from 1999-2002) removed the reggae beat and changed it into an a cappella performed by Michael V. and Ogie Alcasid. The current jingle, "Bubble Gang (Pwede!)" was adapted from the Mexican song "La Cucaracha". " La Cucaracha " ("The Cockroach " is a traditional Spanish language folk song of the genre known as a Corrido A second version of the jingle, a candy factory-like sound, is used in the "Bubble Gang" OBB until October 20 , 2006. Events 1740 - Maria Theresa takes the throne of Austria. France, Prussia, Bavaria and Saxony Today's OBB was a third and current version of "Bubble Gang (Pwede!)" with a little bit of tune from the first version, the vocals also returned and a little bit of new tunes also added. - Cast member Antonio Aquitania was the one responsible for creating Bubble Gang's hit spoof group Sexballs, which copied the antics of the SexBomb Girls. The Sexbomb Girls (or also known as SexBomb Dancers) are an all-female singing and dancing group from the Philippines History The Sexbomb Sexballs has also guested as a group in other GMA shows and appeared occasionally in concerts headlined by either Michael V. or Ogie Alcasid.
- Sometime in 2003, the show paid tribute to the villains of Philippine Cinema. For the particular episode, they guested popular "kontrabidas" Odette Khan and Paquito Diaz. Francisco Bustillos Diaz, who is better known by his Screen name Paquito Diaz (born May 28, 1932 in Pampanga, Philippines The guests performed skits along with the cast with much gusto. The "Kontrabida" tribute turned out to be Paquito's last TV appearance. A year after he guested on "Bubble Gang" he suffered a stroke and cancelled other showbiz commitments.
