On June 6 Danielson teamed with Austin Aries in ROH's one night tournament to crown new world tag team champions. They defeated Roderick Strong and Davey Richards before being eliminated by eventual winners Jimmy Jacobs and Tyler Black via DQ.

One night later Aries and Danielson failed in their bid to win the titles from Jacobs and Black.

He wrestled a dark match on June 9th edition of WWE RAW from Oakland, California. He defeated Lance Cade via Submission with his Cattle Mutilation finisher.
