Bruny Island Premium Wines is Australia's most southern vineyard. It is located in the township of Lunawanna on Bruny Island. Bruny Island ( is an island off the south-eastern coast of Tasmania, from which it is separated by the D’Entrecasteaux Channel. Originally known as Wayaree Estate, the first vines were planted in 1998. After nine years the name of the winery was changed to Bruny Island Premium Wines and on February 17, 2008 the cellar doors opened to the public. The winery produces Pinot Noir and Chardonnay on its 120 acre estate. Pinot noir ('pino nwar is a red Wine Grape variety of the species Vitis vinifera. Chardonnay is a green-skinned Grape variety used to make white Wine. [2] Accommodation is also offered in a 1900s farmhouse on the property.
