Dr. Bruce Taylor is a leading historian of the Royal Navy in the 20th century. The Royal Navy of the United Kingdom is the oldest of the British armed services (and is therefore known as the Senior Service) He is author of numerous articles and books including The Battlecruiser HMS Hood: An Illustrated Biography, 1916–1941 (London: Chatham Publishing, 2005), the first ‘total history’ of a warship ever written. Taylor’s work aims not only to capture the essence and fullness of naval life through intensive research among primary sources, but to bring the subject alive.
