From 1986 to 1991, Davis was chairman and CEO of Activision. Taking over from Jim Levy immediately after the acquisition of Infocom, Davis has been widely blamed for Activision's mishandling of the Infocom properties and other poor business decisions that eventually led the company into Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Jim Levy was initially a music industry executive but he is known better for his efforts as the founding Chief Executive Officer for Activision.
