It is a Pressurized water reactor with uranium dioxide fuel elements, which are used in degrees of enrichment of 1,9 %/2. Pressurized water reactor ( PWR s (also VVER if of Russian design are generation II nuclear power reactors that use ordinary Water 5 %/3. 5 %. It also uses MOX fuel. Mixed oxide, or MOX fuel, is a blend of oxides of Plutonium and Natural uranium, Reprocessed uranium, or Depleted uranium which behaves In the reactor there are 193 fuel assemblies with a heavy metal weight of 103 tons altogether. The nuclear power station Brokdorf has a thermal output of 3,765 MW and an electrical output of 1,440 MW. It belongs to the 3rd PWR generation in Germany. With a net generation of scarcely under 12 billion a KW/H it was the world-wide leader in 2005. [2]
The final disconnection of the plant is so far intended for 2018. [3]
