Minto turned pro in 2002 and won his first 18 bouts gaining the West Virginia heavyweight boxing title, albeit against marginal competition, to set up a 2004 bout with former champion Tony Tubbs. Tony Tubbs (born February 15, 1958) was the WBA World Heavyweight champion from 1985 to 1986. The inactive Tubbs won in a mild upset, stalling Minto's progress. Minto is regularly featured on ESPN fight cards, and is probably best known for his two exciting TKO's over Vincent Maddalone. Vincent Maddalone (born December 29 1973 in Flushing New York) is an American boxer and is a fringe contender in the heavyweight division In November 2006, Minto scored an upset win (TKO in the sixth round) over Axel Schulz, foiling the German's comeback attempt.
