Biography

Brad was taught to play the guitar at an early age. He later gained an interest in songwriting, and moved to Nashville, Tennessee in his early 20s. [1] He performed daily in a nightclub, and was eventually spotted by Joe Carter, an artist manger who had previously worked with Tracy Byrd. [2] Carter saw potential in the young artist, despite thinking that Martin was not quite experienced enough for a record deal. [2] Nonetheless, he encouraged Martin to continue singing and recording demo tapes.

Martin was signed to Epic Records in 2002. Epic Records is an American Record label. It is owned and operated by Sony Music Entertainment. His debut single, "Before I Knew Better", was released that year, followed by the album Wings of a Honky-Tonk Angel. [1][2] The album was widely acclaimed by critics for its neotraditionalist country sound. Neotraditional country, also known as "new traditional" country, is a Country music style that rejects most elements of modern Top 40 country [3][4] In addition, "Before I Knew Better" won an awad from BMI for being among the fifty most played songs of 2003. Broadcast Music Incorporated ( BMI) is a US Performing rights organization. [5] However, his success dropped off after the album's second single, and he has not recorded any albums since.
