History

The team has been known as the Bowmanville Eagles since 1978. Prior to this they were known as the Bowmanville Red Eagles. The team was a member of the Central Ontario Junior C Hockey League early on. History The Central Ontario Junior "C" Hockey League is one of a long list of Ontario Hockey Association leagues to have dubbed themselves as the "Central" The Eagles won the Clarence Schmalz Cup as Ontario Hockey Association Junior "C" Champions in 1981. The Clarence Schmalz Cup is the Ontario Hockey Association 's Junior "C" Ice hockey championship and championship trophy The Ontario Hockey Association is the governing body for the majority of Junior and Senior level Ice hockey teams in the Province of Ontario. Past 1987, the Eagles enjoyed 8 straight winning seasons and 4 league championships. After their 3rd straight league title in 1995, the Eagles made the jump to the OPJHL.

From 1995 until 2003, the Eagles achieved moderate results, never pushing much further than a barely winning record. Since 2003, the Eagles have put together 4 straight dominant seasons.

With four straight 30+ win seasons, the Eagles have continually bowed out of the playoffs early and have yet to win their first ever league title.
