Bolsøy is a former municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. is a county in the northernmost part of Western Norway. It borders the counties of Sør-Trøndelag, Oppland and Sogn og Fjordane.

It was created in 1837 as Bolsøy formannskapsdistrikt. Formannskaps-distrikt was the name for a Norwegian local self-government districts put into force in 1838. According to the 1835 census Bolsøy had a population of 2,391. The farm Sotnakken with 19 inhabitants was added to Bolsøy from Nesset in 1877, but parts of Bolsøy with 183 and 1,913 inhabitants respectively were moved to Molde municipality in 1915 and 1952. Nesset is a municipality in the county of Møre og Romsdal, Norway on the Romsdal Peninsula. Molde is a city and municipality in the county of Møre og Romsdal, Norway.

On 1 January 1964 the rest of Bolsøy was incorporated into Molde.
