The Bioprocessing Technology Institute (BTI) is a national institute in Singapore funded by the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) through its Biomedical Research Council. Singapore The Agency for Science Technology and Research ( Abbreviation: A*STAR; Chinese: 新加坡科学技术研究局 The Biomedical Research Council ( Abbreviation: BMRC;) is a Research Council in Singapore, established in October 2000 BTI spearheads bioprocess science and engineering research by combining molecular biology, biochemistry, proteomic and genomic sciences, to understand how to enhance the productivity of cells, develop better cell culture, fermentation and separation processes to manufacture important molecules such as antibodies, recombinant DNA and proteins that target a myriad of diseases. Recombinant DNA is a form of synthetic DNA that is engineered through the combination or insertion of one or more DNA strands thereby combining DNA sequences

To advance cell-based therapeutics, researchers in BTI customise culture conditions, optimise media, identify reactors and purification procedures unique to the target cells. BTI also engages in research collaborations leading to proprietary technologies with local and overseas companies and universities.

Miranda Yap is as of 2006, the Executive Director of the Institute. Miranda Yap is a professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Department of the National University of Singapore, and the Executive Director of the Year 2006 ( MMVI) was a Common year starting on Sunday of the Gregorian calendar.
