Beyeda is one of the 105 woredas in the Amhara Region of Ethiopia. Woreda (also spelled wereda) is an Administrative division of Ethiopia (managed by a local government equivalent to a District. Amhara (አማራ is one of the nine ethnic divisions ( Kililoch) of Ethiopia, containing the homeland of the Amhara people. Semien Gondar (or "North Gondar" is a Zone in the Ethiopian Amhara Region. Wag Hemra is a Zone in the Amhara Region of Ethiopia. The highest peak in Beyeda is also the highest peak in Ethiopia: Mount Ras Dashan. Ras Dashen (alternatively Ras Dashan or Ras Dejen Ge'ez ራስ ደጀን rās dejen, Amh It is a member of the Semien Mountains, which cover most of this woreda. The Semien Mountains lie in northern Ethiopia, north east of Gondar.

Based on figures published by the Central Statistical Agency in 2005, this woreda has an estimated total population of 103,624, of whom 52,481 were males and 51,143 were females; 1,704 or 1.
