Bascom, the daughter of Civil Rights Activist Rev. Marion Bascom, began her career as a Disc Jockey in Baltimore. Later her career included signing with Philadelphia International Records. Philadelphia International Records is a Record label founded by Kenneth Gamble and Leon Huff in 1971. Bascom was the first artist signed to Stevie Wonder's label Black Bull. Stevie Wonder (born Stevland Hardaway Judkins on May 13 1950 name later changed to Stevland Hardaway Morris) is an She later forged a great recording career in the Pacific Northwest. ^[1] ^[2] For 15 years, Bascom was a headliner on the Las Vegas strip in the award winning show Divine Divas, which duplicated the show of the Supremes ^[3].
