Banū Hāshim (Arabic: بنو هاشم) was a clan in the Quraish tribe. Quraish is also the name of a Surah in the Qur'an. Quraysh or Quraish (Arabic ar قريش Islam's founder, Muhammad(saw), was a member of this clan; his great-grandfather was Hashim, for whom the clan is named.
