Green tea is a type of Tea made solely with the leaves of Camellia sinensis, that has undergone minimal Oxidation during processing It is harvested from the second flush of Sencha between summer and autumn. Sencha (煎茶 is a Japanese Green tea, specifically one made without grinding the tea leaves (The first flush is harvested for Shincha. literally "new tea" represents the first month's harvest of Sencha, a Japanese Green tea. )
The common green tea in Japan. It is harvested from the same tree as Sencha grade, it is plucked later than Sencha is, giving it a lower market grade. It is considered to be the lowest grade of Green Tea. There are, however, 22 grades of Bancha so the highest grades can be delicious.
Its flavour is unique, it has a stronger organic straw smell.
Pour boiling water on leaves and let steep for 30 seconds to 2 minutes tops. If you steep it too long, there seems to be an odd metallic flavour to it.
