This article is about the country For a topic outline on this subject see List of basic France topics. France Football is a French bi-weekly Magazine containing football news from all over the world Until 2007 it was usually known in English as the European Footballer of the Year award. Ballon d'Or is widely regarded as one of the two most prestigious individual award in football (The other being the more recent FIFA World Player of the Year).

The award is given annually to the player considered to have performed the best over the previous year. Prior to 2007, the player had to be a member of a club based within UEFA's jurisdiction, in order to qualify for selection. The Union of European Football Associations (Union des associations européennes de football is the administrative and controlling body for European football. Until 1995, a player also had to be of European nationality to be eligible. Year 1995 ( MCMXCV) was a Common year starting on Sunday.
