Ave Maria Lane is a street in the City of London, to the west of St Paul's Cathedral. For London as a whole see the main article London. It is the southern extension of Warwick Lane, between Amen Corner and Ludgate Hill. Amen Corner lies at the junction of Paternoster Row and Ave Maria Lane, just to the west of St Paul's Cathedral in the City of London. Ludgate Hill is a hill in the City of London, near the old Ludgate, a gate to the City that was taken down with its attached jail in 1780

History

On the feastday of Corpus Christi, monks would say prayers in a procession to St Paul's Cathedral. Corpus Christi ( Latin for Body of Christ) is a Christian feast.
