Born in León, he was the son of Fruela, son of Peter of Cantabria and brother of Alfonso I of Asturias. History León was founded in the 1st century BC by the Roman legion Legio VI ''Victrix''. His seems to have been a relatively quiet and peaceful reign. His reign did see a rebellion of serfs, which Aurelius put down. Aurelius died of natural causes in his capital of Cangas de Onís. Silo was the King of Asturias from 774 to 783 Silo was not a relative of either the Peláyez or Pérez families which had produced all previous kings Adosinda was the queen of Asturias during the reign of her husband Silo, from 774 to 783.
