An athletic conference is a collection of sports teams, playing competitively against each other at the collegiate or high school level. Team sport refers to Sports that are practiced between opposing teams where the players interact directly and simultaneously between them to achieve an objective College ( Latin collegium) is a term most often used today to denote an Educational Institution. High school is the name used in some parts of the world (in particular Scotland, North America and Australia) to describe an institution In many cases conferences are subdivided into smaller and smaller divisions, with the best teams competing at successively higher levels.
