Art Staed is the Iowa State Representative from the 37th District. The Iowa House of Representatives is the Lower house of the Iowa General Assembly. The Democratic Party is one of two major Political parties in the United States, the other being the Republican Party. He has served in the Iowa House of Representatives since 2006. Staed currently serves on several committees in the Iowa House - the Education committee; the Labor committee; the Veterans Affairs committee; and the Economic Growth committee, where he is vice chair. He also serves on the Economic Development Appropriations Subcommittee.

Staed was elected in 2006 with 6,426 votes, defeating Republican opponent Andy Anderson. [1]
