There is a recycling bin on Main St. However, Main St. is closed down; try out one of the other 13 streets instead. While on the south side, check out the cave house; it's on the corner. Also see the baseball field, which is overgrown with scenic grass. If you need a bathroom, there is a public restroom in the center of town at the T.
There is a used car dealership/parts store/graveyard located on the southwest edge of town, known as Cars-R-Us.
Everything else has closed down: the grocery store, the gas station, the high school, etc.
Outside of town there feebly stands what is left of a historic glue factory. Today you can have the privilege of driving directly past the facade on the only freeway in the area. The building can be seen rotting only when looking past the sign that has been hanging on the fence for the past century asking the public: "Please do not leave your dead horses in the driveway. "
Armington has two one churches.
In the spring of 1996, a tornado destroyed a barn, possibly some houses, and for sure a church in the Armington Area. No cows were seen flying through the air.
In the fall of 2002, an unfortunate auto accident in Armington resulted in the death of a pheasant.
In 2003, the population reached 400 for the first time.
In the winter of 2007, Armington remained the only village in the state of Illinois to not have their roads plowed.
