Born to Kashmiri Pandit parents, Archis moved to the UK with his family when he was one year old. In 1995 he moved to Newcastle upon Tyne to study medicine at Newcastle University[1]. Whilst in halls, Archis formed a band with three other friends, one of whom was Duncan Lloyd. Duncan Lloyd is guitarist songwriter and backing vocalist for Newcastle-based band Maxïmo Park. Finding themselves with too many guitarists and no bass guitarist, Archis stepped into the breach.
Not content with completing his studies and working as a local doctor, Archis continued to appear with Duncan in various pub bands over the next few years, which ended in a fortuitous meeting with Lukas Wooller, current keyboard player of Maxïmo Park. Lukas Wooller is the keyboard player and occasional backing vocalist of British Indie rock band Maxïmo Park, based in Newcastle upon Tyne.
