The Archdiocese of Genoa (Latin: Archidioecesis Ianuensis) is a metropolitan see of the Catholic Church in Italy. For the cathedral with the same name in Perugia, see Cathedral of Perugia. Angelo Cardinal Bagnasco (born 14 January, 1943) is an Italian Prelate of the Roman Catholic Church. In Hierarchical Christian churches the rank of metropolitan bishop, or simply metropolitan, pertains to the Diocesan bishop or Italy (Italia officially the Italian Republic, (Repubblica Italiana is located on the Italian Peninsula in Southern Europe, and on the two largest Erected in the third century, it was elevated to an archdiocese on 20 March 1133.
