Saint Antipas is referred to in the Book of Revelation (Revelation 2:13) as the "faithful martyr" of Pergamon. The Book of Revelation, also called Revelation to John, Apocalypse of John ( pronounced, from the Ἀποκάλυψις Ἰωάννου According to Christian tradition, John the Apostle ordained Antipas as bishop of the Pergamon during the reign of the Roman emperor Domitian. The brazen bull, or the Sicilian bull, is an execution/torture device designed in Ancient Greece.

There is a tradition of oil ("manna of the saints") being secreted from the relics of Saint Antipas. [3] On the calendars of Eastern Christianity, the feast day of Antipas is April 11. Families of churches Eastern Christians have a shared tradition but they became divided ( Schism) during the early centuries of Christianity in disputes about Events 491 - Flavius Anastasius becomes Byzantine Emperor, with the name of Anastasius I.
