Antioch Arrow, from San Diego, California, was on the seminal hardcore/emo label Gravity Records, responsible for putting San Diego on the map in the mid-90's as one of the centers of the movement. Antioch Arrow used the fast and chaotic framework of hardcore punk to create songs that were at times melodic and at times indiscernible, but almost always curious and played at breakneck speed. Hardcore punk (now usually referred to as simply hardcore) is a subgenre of Punk rock that originated in North America in the late 1970s Their calling card was surely their Vocalist Aaron Montaigne. Whether dramatic and theatrical or whispered or shrieked, his obtuse, stream-of-consciousness vocal delivery & lyrics forced an audience to react.

They embarked on 3 different tours within the United States. The first was a week long tour of the West Coast in the spring of 1993. The second was a month long tour of the U. S. , spanning late June to Early July 1993. The third and final tour was originally supposed to be for 6 weeks from early June to late July 1994. However, van troubles and inter-band conflict ended the tour in early July with the band canceling many shows across the Northwest. Their last show ever took place in a truck trailer in Boulder, Colorado around July 6, 1994. Boulder is a Home Rule Municipality that is the County seat and most populous city of Boulder County, Colorado, in the United States

Antioch Arrow is arguably the first band ever to be referred to by the now common term, "screamo" and has become widely influential to a multitude of bands, including: Refused, The Used, The Locust, The Blood Brothers and many more. Screamo is a sub genre of Rock music which evolved from Hardcore punk and Emo in the early 1990s Refused was a hardcore band originating from Umeå, Sweden. They formed in early 1991 with Dennis Lyxzén, David Sandström, Pär The Used is a rock band from Orem Utah, USA. Their sound has been classified under many genres and subgenres of rock The Locust is a musical group from San Diego California, United States known for theirunique mix of Grindcore speed and aggression Mathcore

Members went on to form or join: Tarot Bolero, Get Hustle, Final Conflict, Holy Molar, Burlesque Affair, Baron Montaigne & The Chandeliers, Coptic Light, Bedtime, and Magick Daggers, amongst others.
