Andy started his career at Burnley who made his first team debut in 1960. Burnley Football Club, nicknamed The Clarets, is a professional football club managed by Owen Coyle and based in Burnley, Lancashire He remains the only player to have scored five goals for the Clarets on two occasions.

In 1968 he was sold to Leicester and appeared in their 1969 FA Cup final defeat against Manchester City.
