During the Spanish Civil War, many anarchists outside of Spain criticized the CNT-FAI leadership for entering into government and compromising with communist elements on the Republican side. 1936 Revolution
Anarchism started a profound libertarian revolution throughout Spain which, at least partially, provoked the fascist reaction. The Spanish Revolution of 1936 began during the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War.
