Stephen Prothero is the Chair of the Department of Religion at Boston University and the author of numerous books most recently Religious Literacy What Every American Bad Religion is an American Punk rock band founded in Southern California in 1980 by Jay Bentley (bass Greg Graffin (vocals Brett Recipe for Hate is Bad Religion 's seventh full-length Album, released on September 21, 1993.
The song is a cutting attack on then-president George H. W. Bush, who during the first Gulf War claimed America would win as they had Jesus on their side.
