The Amargosa Desert is located in western Nevada, USA, along the border with California. Nevada ( is a state located in the western region of the United States of America. The desert is named after the Amargosa River, so-named for the Spanish word for bitter because of the bitter taste of the water. The Amargosa River is an intermittent stream approximately 200 mi (320 km long in southern Nevada and eastern California in the United States [1]
