After Colony is the collective name for works related to the Mobile Suit Gundam Wing anime series, which first aired in 1995. Mobile Suit Gundam Wing, known in Japan as, was an anime series in the Mecha genre and is one of the alternate universe Gundam series The name comes from the name of the calendar used within the fictional universe, with After Colony 001 (AC 001) corresponding to the construction of the first space colony in Earth orbit. The fictional events of these works are referred to as the After Colony Era, Timeline, or Period.
The After Colony timeline differs from the Universal Century timeline in that an Earth Federation-like government, (The Earth Sphere Alliance and later the Organization of the Zodiac), keeps control of the space colonies and is more repressive. Universal Century is the English name for the original timeline of the Gundam Anime Metaseries. The struggle of the colonies is for freedom, and the Gundams are built as way of defending the plight of the colonies to escape this repression.

The main events of Endless Waltz run from December 24 AC 196 to December 27 AC 196, with the events shown at the end occurring at an unspecified later time.
