The municipality also hosts the only golf course of the island, the Afantou-Golf, which is next to one of the longest beaches on the island. From a total population of 6,712 (2001 census) 5,494 reside in Afantou town. The only other towns are Archípoli (pop. 779) and Kolýmpia (439). The municipality has a land area of 46. 100 km².
