The oldest child of supercouple Jack Deveraux and Jennifer Horton, Abby was born on screen on October 19, 1992, but has been aged since to be born in 1989. Jack once even got trapped behind a door and had to watch them kissing.
Sadly, Jack became ill shortly after his return and allegedly died in a car accident where his body was never found.
Jennifer and Frankie Brady began seeing each other and that made Abby very mad, especially when she walked in on them making love in her parents room. Abby even began considering sleeping with Josh, even though she had always planned to wait until marriage. At a Pier Party with Chelsea and Max, Josh asked Abby to be exclusive and Abby told Chelsea she was going to sleep with him first and then decide, but when things started to get hot, Abby got a phone call and had to go. Little did both girls know that pictures of them kissing there boyfriends were taken by website owners and posted online which Frankie and Jennifer ended up finding. Josh went off screen later when Abby developed feelings for Max and his disappearance was never explained.
In 2006, during Abby's her mother, Jennifer's wedding to Frankie, Jack returned from being presumed dead with his presumed-dead amnesiac brother, Steve Johnson. Steve Johnson is the name of Steve Johnson (American football, wide receiver playing for the Buffalo Bills Steve Johnson (footballer, Australian After receiving a successful experimental treatment for his illness, Jack was finally cured and able to return to his life. Jack and Jennifer soon left for London to run the Spectator newspaper office. Abigail remained in Salem at the university studying business.
Abby soon began working as an assistant at friend Max Brady's garage, helping with paperwork and generally keeping the garage in order. Abby soon developed a crush on Max and began displaying jealous feelings towards Max's relationship with Mimi Lockhart. Max soon admitted his crush on Abby, and the two started dating, but only briefly. Abby's aunt, Maggie Horton, and Jack, pushed her to not go out with Max.
