Born into a stage family, her grandmother Cynthia Coatts runs the Rosslyn School of Dance and Drama in London, while her mother Julia Cruttenden, runs the stage make-up school Greasepaint in London.

Having previously dated film director Ol Parker, she played opposite Sean Bean as his character's onscreen wife Jane in several episodes of Sharpe. Ol Parker (born 1969, London) is an English TV Writer and director. Shaun Mark Bean (born 17 April 1959 is an English Film and stage Actor.
