2002 Tiger Cup was an ASEAN Football Championship jointy hosted by Indonesia and Singapore, and participated by nation football teams of various countries in South-East Asia. The ASEAN Football Championship (formerly known as Tiger Cup) is a biennial international football competition organised by the ASEAN Football Federation The Republic of Indonesia ( (Republik Indonesia is a Country in Southeast Asia. Singapore The championship started off with group matches, where the top two teams from each group advanced to the semi-finals and the final, which was played in a home and away format.

In the final match between Thailand and Indonesia, Thailand took a 2-0 lead against hosts Indonesia by the end of the first half. The Thailand national football team is the national team of Thailand and is connected to the Football Association of Thailand. The Indonesia national football team represents Indonesia in international football; it is controlled by the Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI However, the Indonesians battled back to level the score and force the game into a penalty shootout, which was won 4-2 by the Thais.
